Very attractive steel Vacheron Constantin ref.42042/423A-8890, manufactured in 2004.
Vacheron Constantin launched the Overseas collection in 1996.
The “Overseas” descends from Vacheron Constantin’s reference 222 designed by Jorg Hysek, which was similar to the Patek Philippe “Nautilus” and Audemars Piguet “Royal Oak”.
Designed by Vincent Kaufmann and external watch artist Dino Modolo,the first Overseas was conceived nit only as a sport watch but also as a watch that satisfied global travelers.
Crafted around a tonneau shaped case, the fluted bezel was designed to evolve the Maltese cross that featured on the 222.
The present example stands out for its wonderful overall condition.
The immaculate black dial features the applied Maltese cross along with the writing "Vacheron Constantin” at 12 o’clock position, the date aperture and the writing “Automatic Chronometer”.
It is enhanced by the oversized arabic white numerals.
The captivating grooved bezel recall the Vacheron Constantin Maltese cross.
The steel integrated bracelet together with its deployant clasp, represents an essential part of the whole style of the watch.
